Traditionally, relief organizations have worked independently to meet the needs of disaster victims. Galvanized by the events of September 11, 2001 however, seven leading organizations began exploring better ways to coordinate disaster relief and recovery services. These Partner Agencies reflect the strong commitment we all share to more effectively meet client and community needs.
Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS) AIRS is a membership organization serving information and referral interests throughout the United States and Canada. AIRS mission is to provide leadership and support to the membership to advance the capacity of a Standards-driven Information and Referral industry that brings people and services together.
American Red Cross The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
9/11 United Services Group The 9/11 United Services Group facilitated, expedited, and enhanced the coordination and quality of services among various charities and agencies to ensure that the ongoing needs of individuals affected by the World Trade Center attack were compassionately and efficiently met.
National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD)
NVOAD is a consortium of recognized national voluntary organizations active in disaster relief. NVOAD coordinates planning efforts by many voluntary organizations responding to disaster.
Safe Horizon Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.
The Salvation Army The Salvation Army provides food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children, relief for disaster survivors, assistance for the disabled and many more services to assist more than 30 million people in need annually.
United Way of America The mission of United Way is to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
