Privacy Matters

From the moment partners began discussing the formation of CAN, privacy concerns were in the forefront of the planning process.

When CAN first deployed during the Florida hurricane season of 2004, the web site incorporated the latest encryption technology to make certain client records were secure. CAN handling of data is in full accord with partner practices.

While maintaining confidentiality of client data is a core concern of CAN partners, the commitment to privacy goes even further, with Local and National Partners agreeing to keep confidential, "...all technical knowledge related to CAN...know how and technology, or any other information about a Party's organizational or operational procedures."

These clearly defined policies assure the full, frank and open cooperation of partners. And, they provide peace of mind for clients who can know their information is being securely guarded both by the technology CAN deploys and by the agencies using that technology.
